The University of North Georgia Athletic Communications office is an arm of the External Operations division of the athletic department and is responsible for providing accurate and timely information to a variety of consumers, including media, student-athletes, coaches, fans and alumni. The office reports on and publicizes all 13 varsity sports in addition to upholding the image of UNG Athletics, as well as that of the University of North Georgia in general. Other primary areas of responsibility handled by the Athletic Communications staff include writing the content for UNG's official athletics website, UNGAthletics.com, arranging all interviews with student-athletes and coaches, compiling and archiving statistics, writing press releases and feature stories, management of all departmental social media accounts and producing multimedia (live statistics, live audio broadcasts and live video streams, video content) for all sports through the Nighthawks Sports Network.

To promote the 13 University of North Georgia Athletics teams and the school's athletics brand in a first class and organized fashion and to become one of the premier presentations in both the Peach Belt Conference and the NCAA Division II markets. Our office's goal will be to provide quality, accurate and objective information pertaining to each intercollegiate sports program and event at North Georgia in order to generate understanding, promotion and support for the Nighthawks' intercollegiate athletic department.

The Athletic Communications office is responsible for the management and staffing for all home athletic contests for the department's 13 intercollegiate sports. Complimentary game day handouts with team rosters, schedules, results, notes and statistics are made available at the admissions table at each venue.

Programs, lineups, statistics, standings and notes will be supplied at all home baseball, basketball, softball, and soccer contests to accredited media representatives at press row (basketball), and in the press box (baseball, softball, soccer). Access to press row and press boxes at the UNG Athletic Complex and UNG Convocation Center are for properly credentialed individuals only. Halftime box scores are provided at all basketball games. Refreshments and light meal will also be furnished in the UNG Convocation Center Multipurpose Room for credentialed media between Peach Belt Conference basketball doubleheaders.

Visiting radio personnel desiring to broadcast athletics events at UNG are encouraged to contact the UNG Athletic Communications office at the earliest possible date to request permission to broadcast and confirmation of available space. We encourage using hardwired (ethernet) internet for broadcasting purposes at all UNG facilities. Our baseball, soccer, and softball stadium press boxes are all connected to the North Georgia fiber network, however Wi-Fi is not available at these facilities. Traditional analog phone lines, hardwired (ethernet) internet, and secured Wi-Fi are available at the UNG Convocation Center. Please note, UNG's Wi-Fi features advanced security and may require an update for older computers.

As a courtesy to media covering UNG Athletics, the Athletic Communications office provides photographs of most home UNG events. Arrangements should be made with the Athletics Communications office by anyone who wishes to film or still photograph North Georgia games as a credential is required to take photographs from all NCAA-approved areas at UNG sporting events. Fans are permitted to take photographs from the spectating areas only and must disable their flash.

All interviews with University of North Georgia student-athletes and coaches should be set up through the Athletic Communications office. The best time to arrange interviews with student-athletes is in the afternoons on weekdays (when not interfering with student-athletes' class schedules). Interviews with coaches will be set up based on their individual schedules and will be facilitated through contacting the Athletic Communications office. Interviews at the conclusion of all home athletic events will be held after the NCAA-mandated ten minute cooling off period.

The Nighthawk Sports Network (NSN) is one of the leading digital platforms in NCAA Division II. All broadcasts are free to the consumer and feature a high definition picture, scoreboard graphics, DVR rewind feature, slow motion and audio commentary. The University of North Georgia (UNG) withholds the exclusive multimedia rights to all UNG intercollegiate athletic events and all intercollegiate athletic events hosted by UNG for exclusive use by the Nighthawk Sports Network, the commercial multimedia platform of the Department of Athletics. NSN is operated by the UNG Department of Athletics office of External Operations. Through its exclusive rights, NSN allows affiliates to simulcast the original broadcast through platforms not originally supported by NSN (terrestrial radio and television, cable or satellite television, etc.). Media and photographer credentials for events at UNG may be obtained by working press, radio and television by contacting the UNG Athletic Communications office. All credential requests should be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the event. Credentials will be held in the ticketing area of each venue. Media and photographers can request credentials by filling out our Credential Request Form.
